Cranial Counterstrain

Picture
Cranial Strain Counterstrain, not to be mistaken with Crainiosacral technique, uses objective tender points associated with the muscular or facial tissues of the cranium in order to diagnose dysfunction.  Fascia is a contractile tissue that can go into a state of chronic contraction sufficient to cause musculoskeletal pain and dysfunction.

The fascia of the cranium can tighten causing both a diagnostic tender point and a wide variety of medical conditions and referrals of pain or symptoms.
Cranial tender points, once identified, are alleviated utilizing positional release as
with all strain counterstrain treatment.
Some examples of things Crainial Strain Counterstrain can help with include Headaches, Sinus Problems and Congestion, TMJ Problems and Pain, Face Pain, Dental Neuritis, Tinnitus, Ear Pain, Vertigo, and Eye Pain.  Cranials also have powerful inhibitors that affect strength and function throughout the body.
